The fire giant, H, is a giant in NetHack. As with all giants, they can throw boulders (and can start with one).
Eating the corpse[]
Eating the corpse of a Fire giant gives you a 30% chance to gain the fire resistance intrinsic, which can be considered critical for Gehennom. You also get +1 to your strength when you eat a giant corpse.
