Acid is a corrosive threat to you, your pet, your metal weapons and armor and your enemies. It can come from monsters, comestibles, potions of acid ("This burns!"), and perhaps other sources.
The following monsters are acidic:
- b acid blob
- b gelatinous cube
- j spotted jelly
- j ochre jelly
- D baby yellow dragon
- D yellow dragon
- F green mold
- N black naga hatchling
- N black naga
- P gray ooze
- P brown pudding
- P black pudding
- P green slime
- & Juiblex
Eating an acidic corpses does 1d15 damage unless you are acid resistant.[1]
Drinking a potion of acid does 1-16 points of damage also if not acid resistant.
Acid resistance is granted by being polymorphed into an acidic monster or by wearing an alchemy smock, yellow dragon scale mail, or yellow dragon scales; it cannot be intrinsically granted.
