Incredibly lucky is what they are!
Just decided to start and stepped on a levelport trap after killing one newt (and picking up a bag of holding that spawned right next to me) - that immediately dropped me in the shop on a lower level that has a magic marker and a tinning kit and some kind of horn and other useful tools.
Finnegan is flipping the F--- out right now, because now all he needs is a bit of luck and any scroll and a fountain and he is going to sex the hell out of multiple succubi.
Edit: And I happen to have 900 gold to start with so I don't care if I'm getting suckered for prices :D
What are they?
I'm trying to think of what reason my Tourist could have for being in the DoD. I mean the only thing I can really swing for is that he really wants to have just one (or a billion) warm night(s) in the arms of a succubus.
The best sexual experience possible? That's a reason to risk life and limb, and immortality is cool too, but I just can't seem to make that canon work for me. I think my next run, Finnegan the Tourist, is just looking for sex. I think it'll be a good idea.
You mean like women? Yes.
You mean like Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in Interview with a vampire? No.
You mean the big V's that are really only dangerous for characters that can't get Excalibur? Oh yeah... they're there.
Oh no Wave, I like this one better than the other wiki, and it was my sole resource for my first and necessarily spoiled ascension last night. I'm not much for fanfic so I'll have to migrate I guess :/ I really like the format here, maybe don't delete, just make a splash page that splits the traffic?
Oh well, I guess there's no point in 2 seperate spoilerific wikis for Nethack. I'm sure you'll snag some fanfic writers, the game is rife for it because of the limited graphics and myriad of things that can happen.
I have actually only one way of getting past medusa reliably.
WoD > go to the upstairs, maybe zapping a WoD to make headway there, put on a towel or blidfold and bludgeon her to death on the staircase. Seems to work every time, and this time I got a SoR and BoL from the statue, and had 6 holy waters to boot at the time.
I'll edit where I can, maybe expanding or noting where some corpses are acidic where it's not put in, but I'm still such a beginner to Nethack. I think I'll need to ascend a few times to feel like I have a grip on the game. So 5~6 years from now maybe :P
Sad that you're the only name popping up for edits :/ Nethack is a great game and now that I've been able to semi-consistently make it to Medusa I'd love to expand some of the stubs.
As for the theme I love it, and if you've got the energy and time I'd like to see more :]
